Dear LTRC Cheerleaders and Families,
Summer is flying by, and I just can’t believe that our first practice is only 2 weeks away!!
Here are a couple of reminders before we start, and some information:
Practice starts Tuesday August 2, 2011, at Seminary Park, upper field 6:00pm to 8:00pm. We will meet by the tennis courts. If you know of anyone who is coming to register, we ask that you try to be there at least 15 minutes prior to practice starting. We will have a registration table set up starting at 5:30. Remember that we are practicing, squads B-D, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until school starts. HERE IS A BIG CHANGE: If you are on A Squad, you will be practicing Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, until school starts.
Please take a moment to read our parent handbook, featured on our webpage. It can be found at LTRC.org/cheerleading. All cheerleaders/parents will be required to sign off on the information contained in the handbook during the first week of practice, but in addition, it should answer any questions you might have.
Due to the new status of our teams, we are now a competition program, it is vital that all vacations, or missed practices are reported to the coaches. As most do not know the coach for their child yet, you can contact me thru email or by phone, with any expected absences for the first 2 weeks of practice.
If you have any equipment or uniform pieces from last year, please bring them to the first practice. All must be returned for inventory, and if a piece is outstanding, including pompoms, new uniforms will not be distributed.
A reminder that all registration monies must be paid prior to uniform hand-out, which is scheduled for August 13, 2011. Times will be announced. Please let me know if this is an issue. NO UNIFORMS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED WITHOUT PAYMENT.
We have a number of different fund raiser events that will be new this year. Attached, you will find a Corporate Sponsor Program, that we are asking each family to review, and had to a local business, to seek their support. Due to our new competition status, we are having more expenses than ever, and are hoping that corporate sponsorship will aid us in keeping our registration costs down.
Also, we are hosting an Applebee’s All you can eat Pancake/ Sausage Breakfast, on August 28th from 8-10AM. More information will be provided on the first night of practice regarding tickets ETC.
And last, we are going to be having a family movie night, at the park, on August 19th, 2011. Again, more information will be provided the first week of practice. At this point, we are just asking you to save the dates, and talk these events up to your friends and families. They both promise to be fun!!
And lastly, I have included a coupon for Sports Authority in Towson, or Whitemarsh. They are hosting an appreciation day for Football and Cheerleading, and I think the coupon makes it pretty clear. 20% on anything and everything you buy on Saturday July 23,….If you are not able to make that day, let me know, as they have provided some additional coupons for us to use.
